Meet Sid Mandelbaum, MD, FACS
Dr. Mandelbaum has been in practice in New York since 1986. After completing his undergraduate work at Columbia University, he went on to receive his medical degree from Yale Medical School. Dr. Mandelbaum interned at New York Hospital – Cornell University and then completed an ophthalmology residency at Los Angeles County – USC Medical Center. He then completed fellowship training in corneal diseases and eye surgery at the world-renowned Bascom Palmer Eye Institute at the University of Miami.
After his fellowship, Dr. Mandelbaum was invited to join the full-time faculty involved in treating complex corneal conditions and training other ophthalmologists. After five years, Dr. Mandelbaum moved to New York, where he has been in practice since.
Dr. Mandelbaum is currently on the staff at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary, the North Shore – Long Island Jewish Health System and Manhattan Eye, Ear, and Throat Hospital. He is actively involved in the New York Eye Bank and was a previous chairman of the Academy of Ophthalmology’s Preferred Practice committee.
